Dear All -

I am running High Sierra 10.13.6 on my MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2014) and have Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 (all other programmes working perfectly) from which I run Adobe Audition 4.0.

Audition worked perfectly until a recent iTunes update and now it crashes. I have reinstalled it but still get the same result. These are the notes from Apple:

Exception Type:        EXC_CRASH (SIGABRT)
Exception Codes:       0x0000000000000000, 0x0000000000000000
Exception Note:        EXC_CORPSE_NOTIFY

Termination Reason:    DYLD, [0x2] Wrong architecture

Application Specific Information:
dyld: launch, loading dependent libraries

Dyld Error Message:
  Library not loaded: /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/MobileDevice.framework/Versions/A/MobileDevice
  Referenced from: /System/Library/Frameworks/CoreAudioKit.framework/Versions/A/CoreAudioKit
  Reason: no suitable image found.  Did find:
/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/MobileDevice.framework/Versions/A/MobileDevice: mach-o, but wrong architecture
/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/MobileDevice.framework/Versions/A/MobileDevice: stat() failed with errno=45
/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/MobileDevice.framework/Versions/A/MobileDevice: mach-o, but wrong architecture

Has anyone any suggestions how I can get the programme running again? I use it for my work and would be very grateful for suggestions. Thanks for your help in anticipation.

That shouldn't happen with High Sierra. It's the last Apple OS that would support 32-bit apps, but in the back of my mind I seem to recall that they released an update that screwed it so it wouldn't - which is exactly what your error messages are indicating. There were a lot of complaints about it, and they 'reluctantly' released a patch correcting this, I believe. Can't find it though (I don't need it, as I don't run a Mac), but there has been at least one more thread about this, if you search. Failing that, get on to Apple and ask them.

But don't be under any illusions; Apple really are out to shaft you in the long run over any 32-bit apps in a way that Microsoft simply aren't going to. MS let you run a 32-bit emulation invisibly in W10, so all prior versions continue to run.
