Question

Audition Crashing & Lost Work

Hi,

Can someone please assist me with this.

Audition had been working fine for me consistenly, however within the last week or so, it had crashed repeatedly when doing simple tasks like Merging or applying an effects rack. Each time it does this, when attempting to recover it fails reading 'Warning: X number of clips has no file asset' and my most recent crash ALSO had made no back up files for the past two hours despite being set to do so for every ten minutes. It crashes with no warning, and I'm working on a brand new Macbook Pro.
I can't for the life of me figure out why it has turned from a reliable piece of software, to a complete mess within days. It's really making my work impossible and I'm already having to look at alternative software.
I have retrieved the Log Files and will post them below along with my System details below. Many thanks.

Two things: the only people who can deal with crashes like this are the developers. with very few exceptions. There'a an FAQ called Audition crashed - now what?  and at the end of it is an email address to send crash reports to, and it also tells you exactly what to send. Make sure also that there's a return email address.

The second thing is that I'm going to take a guess, and make a suggestion. It's just possible - judging from what you said happened - that your preferences file has severely corrupted itself. You'll lose anything you saved in the way of preferences if you restore the vanilla set, but it doesn't sound as though you're going to have a huge amount of choice over this, or anything much to lose anyway; Just restart Audition with the Shift key held down and see if that improves things. The other thing to mention is that if you tried to create a session file with corrupted preferences, there's a good chance that this is corrupted too - so you may have to start over, I'm afriad. Sorry I haven't got any better news.

This is why I don't update my version if it is stable because I have obseverd with other software they release Latest Stable Version LTS so if my version is stable I don't ever update.
