Audition CS5.5 Suddenly Won't Start

Question

I hope I'm not posting in the wrong spot...first time.  I have been running CS5.5 without issue for nearly four years on my MacBook Pro.  I'm currently on MacOS Mojave (don't want to go to Catalina, because of the 64-bit restriction).  This morning, I tried to load Audition, and it won't start up.  The other programs in the suite all seem to operate without any issue.  Help?

We know what's happened, and I'm afraid it's not good. You need to read to the end of this thread. This applies only to programs that use CoreAudio, which is why other stuff still works.
