A'ight, look. I have a big question.

Let's imagine that I have a time selection of some part of track in Waveform. I copy it. And then I paste it to this track. So, here comes a question: how can I paste it as a single clip? and how can I work with it as with a separate clip?

                                                     (that's a good one)

Actually, it does mean exactly that. I have known how destructive editing works in Audition since its inception, as I've been both alpha and beta testing it for the last two decades - even before it was an Adobe product. What you appear to be trying to do is simply not within the waveform operational remit; you cannot have a choice of options available within a file. The file has to be contiguous, with only one sample position per sample available. As I said, if you want a choice of what happens when mixing a clip, you have to do it non-destructively in Multitrack view, and mix down the result to a single file when you are satisfied with it.

    Okay, we'll take it literally:

Simple answer; you can't. Waveform view deals destructively with one file at a time - no isolated, separate clips allowed. If you want to do this, that's what Multitrack view is for.

With your suggestion of the mix-paste option, you could mix it with the original track once, after making a suitable selection but when you've placed it, all your options stop unless you undo it, and paste it again with different settings.

I think it's possible to do, using Mixpaste option. But I don't know how can I do this in CS6.....

Second part of your question is easiest to answer first. Once you have selected part of your audio (not track since Audition uses Track for individual tracks in the Multitrack view) you go to the File menu and do a Save Selection As, give it a siutable name then OK to save.

For the first part I am confused by "And then I paste it to this track". Where you are trying to Paste the selected and copied section to?

You don't get the question, my friend. I know how to save selection.

I'm workin in Waveform, not in Multitrack. And I want to paste a copied part selection to whole track in Waveform, as a single part of this track. I mean with crossfades and stuff...

    You feel me?

Have you tried 'Paste To New', or am I not getting what you mean either? Paste To New would give your selection a file of its own, with fade handles at each end.
