Audition CS6 periodic hissing sound after export

Question

Sorry if there is an answer for this already posted but I couldn't find it anywhere.

I've recorded a multi-track mix in Audition CS6 and all of the audio tracks sound perfect, however, after I do a multi-track mixdown of the session and export it to MP3 a periodic hissing sound shows up in the mix. This hissing sound happens approximately every 10 seconds and lasts for 2 seconds each time. I've exported dozens of tracks like this before without issue and it just seems to have started sometime this week. I've searched the forums and am at a loss for what to do. My version of Audition CS6 is up to date and everything else works perfectly. I ran into this issue about a year ago but I believe it was solved with an update, but that doesn't seem to be the case this time.

Please help!

I'm using Windows 10 on an Acer Predator G9-793 laptop with 16GB RAM and a GTX-1070.

Are you using any third party plugin effects? Some of those add periodic hiss if they are still in trial mode and not registered properly.

Do you hear the same problem hiss if you export to .wav rather than .mp3?
