hello

does anyone know how to change 'mix' in multitrack editor panel to 'master'?

i think when i started this project i may have chosen 'mix' thinking that made sense since i was mixing tracks.

but now i don't have a master track.

thank you for any insights!

If you start with the 'none' template, the Master channel gets labeled as 'Mix', so you have got one; it's not possible to have a valid session without one. You can always tell which one it is, because the symbol beside it is different from the track symbol. But if you want to change it to Master, it's not a problem - just click on the word 'Mix' and it will highlight, and let you change it.

thank you SteveG! i was able to highlight and change 'mix' to 'master'. does it ultimately matter if it is named 'mix' or 'master' when you do a mixdown? thank you

No it doesn't - it's just routing determined by a name.
