Audition incorrectly interpets output device sampling rate

All of a sudden Audition is insisting both my output devices (Macbook speakers and headphones) can only accomodate a sampling rate of 16K.  None of the other programs I use (Ableton Live for example) are doing this. The Macbook Pro and the other programs recognize that my output devices have both 41K and 48K sampling.  Any idea how to fix this? I am using version 22.6.0.66 on a Macbook Pro MacOS Monterey 12.6.9

That worked! I could have sworn I tried that yesterday. However, thank you. I unchecked the “force machine-specific device” box and it is now working.

I don't have a Mac, but on PC versions in Preferences>Audio Hardware there is an option to force machine-specific device defaults. If this is present on Mac versions, it's worth either checking or unchecking it (which ever it is currently set to) and trying again to see if it makes any difference.
