Audition keeps losing audio hardware

Hello everyone,

So, I am new to the whole podcasting thing and tried to gather enough information to get started. I heard from a friend that it's better to use URX Mics. So I bought a set, including a mixer, to use with my mac. Now, it should be Plug and Play and my mac recognizes something (I think it's a driver of some kind), but everytime i'm like 2 or 3 minutes in, the program looses it's hardware settings. So, it stops recording or the playback and it kind of resets.  At the store they tell me they've never had this kind of complaint before. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

What am I using?
Macbook Pro 2019 - MacOS Catalina 10.15.6
Satechi - USBC Multiport v2 hub
Vonyx VMM-P500 mixer
Vonyx CMS400 microfoon
Adobe Audition - 13.0.11.38

Extra addition: it recognizes my mic as 'JieLi BR17' - which I now see is a windows driver. But in all reviews say that's not a problem....
