audition marker numbering

I'm afraid that there is no facility to renumber markers. I don't think that most people would find it very useful, and in reality the system would work better without them anyway; they're completely unnecessary.

The way that I use markers is to change the default text (you can do this in Preferences>Markers and Metadata) to 'And this is...?' which reminds me that I ought to put something meaningful there instead of just a number. There are two advantages to this; firstly, the text is searchable in the markers panel, so in a complex job it's easy to find the bits you're looking for, and secondly it means that if you need to save ranges as a batch, the saved files automatically get the marker text as as a name.

If you want to do more extensive work with cues and markers, and you are running a PC, then CueListTool allows a lot of flexibility - you can find it here: CueListTool. If you are running a Mac, you're out of luck, I'm afraid.
