Audition noob question
Hi all!
So this is probably a dumb question. But I have been teaching myself to video edit and all that. Currently I'm in the middle of a video project I am working on for a friend. Majority of the video's lines I got a roland vt4 voice changer to get my voice to sound like a demon and what not that I need for my video. This is my first time ever working with audio from scratch (usually I am just inserting music and VO into my timelines and adjusting the sound and what not) and have never used adobe audition or worked with a mic setup. I've been trying to learn adobe's premiere pro and after effects since I see myself working in that area more. Not to say that this isn't an important tool to learn, but I don't want to be trying to teach myself 3 different applications at the same time. But since this project is for my friend, it has to be perfect. I currently am having issues with getting the audio that I am speaking in the mic to go through my headphones instead of my studio monitors that are also connected to the vt4 as I'm using it as my interface for that. I am guessing I have to go into my preferences and audio mapping to get that to happen, but that screen is exceptionally confusing as I don't understand any of it.
I am currently trying to use an extension cable that I have to use an adapter to take it from a 1/4" connection down to the 3.5mm connection. I have Beats Studio headphones that I am trying to use. I have them plugged into the "phones: port of the vt4 as I'm pretty sure that's the right port as the only other option is "mic in" which I think is incorrect. Either way I have tried both ports. I have tried not using the extension cable and just plugging the headphones directly in and I still get no sound through them.
I'm sure this is a simple fix and I would appreciate any help!
Thank you!!
