Audition Not Working With Apple Voiceover

I just downloaded Audition on my M1 MacBook pro and am disappointed to say that the program does not work with Apple's built-in screenreader called VoiceOver. The menus work and are accessible, but the actual interface is not at all. In fact, I cannot even enter Audition's interface. I get stuck at the top above the window where my otpions are Close, Minimize, and Zoom, along with the title of the window, "Adobe Audition 2021". Does anyone know of a fix for this? Perhaps another screen reader? Unless I'm doing something wrong here, I'm concluding that Apple's Voiceover and Adobe Audition do not compliment each other. Really big bummer.
