I am having issues with Adobe Audition CC the latest version and OSX Sierra on them Mac working together. The playhead will not move at all and I cannot get any levels to come into the program. Any help?

The Black Magic does video and audio. so I am not sure what the issue is. We have had it before in our edit suites in the past during a CC update but cannot remember the fix to get the play head to move or to record.

    Hi ryclark,

Thanks for the response. We get playback fine now in all of the Adobe Programs as well as the system programs however when we open up Audition and create a new audio file and go to record nothing happens. The play head does not move however our mixer shows levels coming in but no levels to Audition. Our setup is using a newly installed Black Magic 4k Break out box so the L/R XLR out are running into the BM Box and then Thunderbolt into the Mac.

I suspect that the Blackmagic card won't let you record audio unless there is video present at it's input. After all it is a video card not an audio interface and won't pass audio unless it is part of the video stream. Can you record audio from the Mac's normal audio input jack?

If the play head won't move then that points to a problem with Audition's connection to your audio interface. Similarly you won't be able to record anything if the audio interface isn't set up properly. What are you using to get audio in and out of your Mac and Audition? So basically you need to check that a) you can playback audio in other apps like iTunes and b) check all the settings in Audition's Preferences/Audio Hardware page.
