Audition picking up pc mic insted of external microphone

Hi,

I'm trying to record audio in Audition on my laptop, with a lavalier microphone system hooked up to it via the mic jack (i use a TRS to TRRS converter to transfer the signal).

Windows itself is picking up the signal from the lavalier, but Audition just chooses to use the laptop mic intstead. I have no option to pick the lavalier as the input, as Windows does not add it as a seperate sound device. I have no idea what I am supposed to do to make Audition understand that it is the lavalier it shuld be using. Can anyone please help?

Best regards,

Mikkel.

I'd start by setting it as the default device for recording, but also note that if you've plugged it into the mic socket, then it's the socket you should be looking for, not the device. The socket won't have the faintest idea of what you've plugged into it!
