AUDITION problems importing audio from a micro cassette recorder

Question

Am trying to import old audio interviews from a Sanyo dictaphone/microcassetter recorder.

I have a 3.5 mm lead coming from earphone output on the recorder to a Scarlett Solo. SEE Photograph

I can only input to Port 2/instrument input.

I cam hear interview through headphone in Scarlett jack, but I can see no input levels on Audition.

Thoughts as to what I may be doing wrong, or other settings I could try? Much obliged. Everyone stay well x

Assuming that this has worked before, you probably need to set the correct record source:

Also you need to record-enable the track.

All this assumes that your sound device is connected and enabled correctly, of course...
