Audition Randomly Changing Audio Hardware Settings

Has anyone ever seen a scenario where Audition randomlhy changes hardware settings on its own? I've been using Audition for years and have never seen such a thing. This is, however, the first time I've ever used Audition on Windows.

Here are my specs:

  • Windows 11 Home
  • 64 MB RAM
  • Using Audition 2023

Any thougths or remedies?

Made a discovery. It's best NOT to install ASIO4ALL on Windows, at least not when using the Mackie DLZ Creator. I uninstalled ASIO4ALL, used standard ASIO, and use the Mackie ASIO Driver.

All is well now.

Is it Audition changing harware settings or Windows changing its default drivers? Are you using an ASIO driver or the Windows MME. I have had the case where updating the graphics driver altered the Windows audio output.

The Audition hardware settings keep changing. Not sure if it's a driver issue or not. I did confirm that all the updates have been applied. MME is the only method that allows me to record anything at all. If I switch to ASIO, I can't record at all. Basically, the hardware setting changes are happening in MME.

Clarification: It appears Audition is making the change.
