Question

Audition saving multiple versions of file

Hi all,

I'm relatively new to Audition (a print journalist who has moved into radio work) and I'm cutting up some interviews for the sound designer on a radio documentary I'm working on.

For some reason, Audition seems to keep saving new versions of a file as I'm working on it and making/saving changes. See pic attached. I did not create/name these files, just the original. Whether I'm saving or it's auto-saving, it creates a new file and adds the latest number at the end. Is there any way to stop this? I have updated to the lastest version. Perhaps there is a simple fix but I have not found it through searching the most obvious terms.

Thanks,

Lenny

Doesn't normally happen like that. Could you describe the exact steps you've taken to end up in this situation, please?

Thanks Steve, sorry for the terribly slow reply, I got married and went on honeymoon last month so just getting back to work now.

Exact steps - ok

Wav clips from interviews recorded on a zoom, drag them into the file manager box at the top left of Audition

Create new audio file (File > New > Audio File (Mono)

then start to drag clips into this blank file and edit into one long interview file - now whenever I got to save this file the above happens

I think that's all the detail I can think of, but if you have any specific questions, let me know

thanks
