Audition Sound Recording Problem

I've read many posts here re: Audition voice recording problem and it seems either I missed something or this is a new mystery.  I am a  PC user.  It seems likely this problem ocurred immediately following an Audition update.  Audition Ver 5.0.   MME, Digital Inputs, etc. all seem to be set as experts have advised here.  Master Clock out or in makes no difference.  I can record voice using Audacity, which I downloaded simply to urgently overcome this problem.  Mic chain is Shure SM7B to dbx 286s to dbx 266 xl to Behringer1622FX into Windows 10 Pro 64 bit.  If I don't respond quickly to your posted advice, please understand I host a 4-hour talk radio program that is heavy on local content.  Time is a rare commodity during this crisis.   Thank you and be well,   Rick Jensen

It may be just me but I'm not clear exactly what the issue is.

One thing I would note is that you are using MME - I would suggest selecting the ASIO driver

I have the exact same issue. I suspect it is to do with an Update as well.

It worked!  Now I just need to study the differences between MME and ASIO to understand why this is the correct setting!  And it's a mystery to me as to why that setting would switch from ASIO to MME during an upgrade.  Thank you.  You hit the "SuiteSpot!"

Audition 5.0? I'm with SuiteSpot - you really haven't told us enough about what fails.
