Audition - Sound wont play from video file

I can open up the video in After Effects and I can see and hear the video.
I can open up the video in any media player, and I can see and hear the video.

I drag/dropped the video into Adobe Audtion (and also tried Importing).

The Files window shows both an .mp4 and .audio for the video.
I double click the audio portion and press play, and no sound emits from the .audio

You can see in the Editor window that there is sound
But nothing is playing.

Any advice?

    Does the CTI move at all when you hit play, or will it not? If it won't, then your sound device isn't connected to Audition - you need to go to Edit>Preferences>Audio Hardware to make sure that you have a valid connection,
