Audition taking a long time to apply effects as well as save

I'm running the latest version of audition and any time I try to add any effects, match loudness, or save, it takes a lot longer than it should. I have 32 gigs of ram and a 2tb SSD (Samsung t7). The file I'm trying to edit is just a simple single track .wav file. It's about 13 minutes long as well. When I go to apply the effects, it would take 2 hours. I opened it on another device with only 16 gigs of ram and it ran just fine as it should normally. Not sure what the issue is as I have all of the settings the same as well.

Assuming it's a PC, then try running Task Manager to find out what other app is using up all the resources, because that's exactly what's happening here, by the sounds of it.
