Audition Will Not Record on Macbook Pro Mojave 10.14.3

I'm new to Audition and have set all the Audio Hardware, Audio Midi Setup, Etc to default, sample rates all match, etc. But Audition will not record any audio when I create a new file and hit record. Just silence, and it's not picking up anything. Tried default mics, tried external interface, etc. Running newest version of Audition 2019, and have also uninstalled and tried other editions as well.

Anyone have any idea why it will not recognize the microphone or record on my Macbook Pro?  Playback of other Wav. files works fine.

Garage Band works fine, records fine. Very frustrating.
