Question

Audtion not recording after selecting mic as input/bar don't move

So, I recently got myself a simple RODE setup, i got an NT1 mic and a AI-1 interface which i have plugged into each other and into my computer. I've gone into my Audio Hardware setting in Preferences and selected Line one as my input (the only option to come up). When I proceed to record, either in waveform or multitrack, the program lags for a second or two, then nothing happens. The buttons on the bottom imply that Audition is recording, however that play bar doesn;t move and nothing happens. I don't have it set to only record when theres theres sound, and the interface is working completely fine. I can;t identify the issue, let alone figure out how to fix this. Any and all help would be amazing, I can't afford to let  this go on too long. Thanks in advance

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post if it helps you get responses.

If the transport doesn't move, the only thing that causes this is that your sound device isn't connected to Audition properly. Can you show us a screen-grab of your Audio Hardware settings?

You need to get the sample rates aligned. Going in at one rate and trying to come out at another is something that Audition really doesn't like! If the mic is set up to output at 44.1k, then you need Audition to record at this rate as well. When you've got it all aligned, take the check out of the 'use machine-specific defaults...' box as well.
