Bad quality microphone

Hello, my microphone has very bad quality. It worked fine on my other computer, but since I changed it to my laptop, the quality isn't good anymore. I have no idea what to do, if I'm supposed to install something to improve the quality...I don't know. Clearly I'm new to all of this haha. Could anyone please help me?

Does the mic take a battery or is it powered from the 3.5mm socket?

Actually, go back a step. Which AUKEY mic? They have at least one that's 48v phantom powered. So we need to know exactly which one it is, and how it was connected previously. Details are everything here...
