Boost Bass Multiple Songs using a macro without altering volume

Question

I have a problem you guys may or may not be able to help with.

I bought a 2024 Mustang that had the B&O sound system in it and while it sounded okay it did not sound as good as the aftermarket system I had in my Lincoln LS.

As a result, I had the system replaced with new amps and speakers and went top of the line. I am a 66 year old Doctor so it isn’t necessary for me to say how much the upgrade cost but it was all Focal Speakers and top of the line amplifiers.

Here is the problem.

I bought the Mustang before I sold the LS and there was no comparison between the LS system and the Mustang Factory B&O system.

Before I sold my LS I put one of the Service people at the Dealership into each car playing the same song and asked why the LS sounded so much better than the Mustang B&O system.

He told me Ford deliberately had the Mustang stereo roll off the Bass because they didn’t want to be replacing speakers under warranty constantly with people blowing them out playing Rap Music. I don’t think a 66 year old Doctor is your typical Mustang buyer.

That is why I had the amplifiers and Speakers replaced.

Unfortunately, the Service Tech thought the Factory Amp was rolling off the Bass but it is actually the radio itself as I discovered after replacing everything but the radio which isn’t possible.

I can compensate for this by increasing the Bass on the songs I listen to on the USB drive but I tried it in Audacity and it blew them out and Normalizing just ruined the quality.

I used Audition years ago and can probably figure it out again but you guys know more about it than I do.

I tried increasing the Bass using the Equalizer in Audacity and it blew out every song and Normalizing them just flattened everything out.

The question is if it is possible to Batch Process several hundred songs with Audition boosting the Bass but keeping the relative volume and Dynamic Range the same?

It isn’t possible for me to edit each song individually.

There are just too many of them.

I just need to boost the Bass on multiple songs using a Macro without clipping or blowing out the Dynamic Range in the process.

Can Audition do this and provide acceptable results?

I don’t mind paying for it and learning how to do it if it is possible but as I said you guys know the program and what it can do.

It is pointless for me to buy a subscription if I what I need to do over multiple songs using a macro isn’t possible.

Audition is perfectly capable of doing what you want, but if there are that many songs, presumably all from different sources, you might want to do this in two stages. The basic idea is that you set up a Favorite with the EQ change you need, and apply this using the Batch Process module - you just drop all your songs into its window, select your Favorite (and a destination folder - ideally you shouldn't overwrite the originals) and off it goes. What you might also want to do though is use another process as well called Match Loudness. You can use this to set all of the songs to one of its loudness profiles, so that you don't have to play around with compensating for the different levels of them whilst driving - which inherently makes your journeys safer! It's a moot point as to which process you'd carry out first; I'd probably do the EQ and then Loudness-match the resulting EQ'ed files.

But yes, Audition is perfectly capable of doing this.
