Question

BURN A TRACK including effects

In a multitrack recording, I would like to duplicate, or "burn" a track including its effects. The end result would be a track that has the effects on it (from the original), but does not actually use any effects from the effects rack.

I know no further editing of the "burned" effect can be done.

The purpose is to decrease the processing power needed for the mix.

We don't call that 'burning' - that's a term generally used for creating CDs. In terms of applying effects and reducing processing power requirements, Audition can do better than that; it's a process called pre-rendering. At the top of the effects rack is a little lightning bolt -

and if you click that, it apply all the effects in the rack to your track, so it's fully processed before the mix - so it doesn't now have to be processed during a mixdown or export at all. And you can do it independently to any track in your session. The reason that it's better though is that you can unclick it, change things around, and then pre-render the whole thing again without loss. Win-win, that is!
