Question

Byte Stream type of the given URL is not supported

I've recorded several voice over sessions.  They are .pkf files and they were saved to my external hard drive, not to a cloud or mydrive.  When attempting to open any of the project files, I get the following error message:

Error: Media Foundation reported an error when opening the file.
The byte stream type of the given URL is unsupported.

What is the fix?

.pkf files are simply visual information about an audio file, that can help open it faster if it's a large one. There is no audio in them. The audio would be in the associated wav files. If you recorded in Multitrack view, then the information about your session would be in .ses files and these would have links to the appropriate audio.

Thank you.  I feel a little dumb, but relieved.

I should add that I am using Adobe Audition build 23.0.0.54.
