CAD E100S and Zoom H5 - no sound in audition

Question

I have a CAD E100S mic and Zoom H5 interface that I am attempting to connect to Audition trial. I am able to see the H5 for mics, and have selected it in Audition. When I hit record it shows Audition has recognized the record command and is moving, but the stack overflow is flat in Audition, it's not registering on the H5 and I can't hear anything. Any suggestions?

It's no good just selecting the H5 as a recording source - you have also to select an appropriate input from it in the track you are trying to record to, and then arm the track itself so that it can record (the R button) - steps that many people seem to overlook!
