Question

Can't figure out what's wrong with this audio clip (or how to fix it)

I think I might be SOL on this one, but maybe someone with more experience can help me out here. I've attached a bit of the problem I'm having. It's not clipped, it's just got this distortion that I can't identify or figure out how to get rid of. https://www.dropbox.com/s/xt1s72decob652v/DonExample.mp3?dl=0

Rule 1 of distortion: You can't fix it - it's simply not possible, because you have no correct reference to fix it against.

This goes for all forms of distortion, and always will. That's why people generally go to considerable lengths to avoid it. Well, most people do - with the exception of rock guitarists, apparently; they seem to think that it's an integral part of their makeup.

What you have in your sample is as bad as it gets - you've got some form of modulation effect which appears to 'granualize' the sound. That's a re-record job, I'm afraid.

Thanks for the reply. I figured as much, but wanted to make sure there wasn't some miracle solution I was missing. Appreciate it!
