Can't Find Audio Device

I've seen several threads referring to a similar problem, but none that seemed to have a good resolution. I'll try again.

Had a problem where Adobe Audition 3.01 wouldn't open the Edit view, so I deleted and reinstalled. Everything was fine.

When I next tried to open Audition, it said that it couldn't find an audio device and wouldn't open at all. Tried rebooting, deleting the system preferences folder, and even installing a different audio interface. All to no avail. If I repair the program in Windows control panel program repair/delete options and reboot, that will allow me to use it that one time, but if I close Audition, it will then say again that it can't find an audio device when I try to reopen.

Audition 3.01

Windows 7 64 bit

MOTU 828mk3 hybrid, via Firewire

Also tried an Audient ID14 USB, and all other audio programs, Izotope RX5, Audacity, WireReady work fine.

Can you see and select the Motu or Audient ASIO drivers in Audition's Audio Hardware set up page?
