I exported an edit from Premiere CS6 as an OMF and opened it in Audition CS6, but I can't find the video. I know I'm missing something simple. Please help

While it is possible to have a video included in an OMF I jave never seen one that did and I have seen a lot of OMFs from all over the place.

Usually what happens is that the audio is included in the OMF and a lo-res render of the video is sent separately.

If you want to go from Premier to Audition using CS6 then you should export an FCP XML - that will include both the video and audio BUT remember that Audition will only accept a single video file so you will need to plan ahead.

That makes sense!

I suspect that OMF is not a video format that Audition supports - at least CS6 did not.

For CS6 the supported formats were AVI, DV, MOV, MPEG-1, MPEG-4, 3GPP and 3GPP2.  If you had the Master Collection installed, there were a handful of additional formats.

Look at the Help document for your version of Audition in the Supported Import Formats section to check what is supported

All versions of Audition have supported OMF, so I suspect that the answer is a little more complicated than that - almost certainly to do with the video formats that Audition can open. For a start, you might like to look at the Larry Jordan Webinar - that might give you a better idea of what's going on:
