Cannot Access Audio OnDrive Files On my Hard Drive!

Question

I cannot access audio OneDrive Professional files on my hard drive. They are not shown! Why is this? I can see them in Windows Explorer but since I cannot access them, then I can't work wirh them of course.

Also, when started twice, Audition says that it cannot load my default input/output devices and that my microphone and speaker are disabled but they work fine. After loading the devices or whatever it's called, fianlly the message no longer ocurrs. I am using version 13.0.12.45.

Leaving aside any other considerations, you shouldn't ever work with, or try to store directly to, files that are located externally to your machine. We get a lot of questions from people about this, and they all experience the same issue - failures, because you absolutely cannot depend on any given file being accessible at any given time. The only way to work reliably with audio is to work with local copies on your machine. If you want to store those remotely after the event, then upload them as files - the handshaking handling for those is designed to put up with transmission variations that storing audio simply can't cope with. Specifically with OneDrive, it's possible to free up space on your machine by not allowing a file copy to be stored locally, and if that's the case then obviously, you won't find them. So you have to go back to the remote copies and change the status to make them available locally.

Personally I have found DropBox to be a lot more robust that OneDrive, which I now don't use for anything.
