Cannot find the .sesx file format under Save As option

Hello,

I am new to Adobe Audition 2022 and just started learning it.

When I make a single-track or multi-track recording and then go to Save As to save it, I cannot find the .sesx file format in the dropdown menu to save the recording. How do I save it in the session format?

Also, I wish to keep all the "Effects" settings that I have configured without applying it before saving, so that the original voice remains as it is and I also save the effects options and reconfigure it later.

Is there any option that will allow me to keep all the settings and audio tracks in their original form while saving?

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Sesx is only a session file format, and has nothing to do with the audio. If you make a recording in Multitrack view you are asked for a file name at the start of it, and a location for it, and that's where it is stored. If you make a recording in Waveform view it's different - it resides in a temp file until you do the save operation and then it's just the same - saved where you specified.

 

If you save a session file, this retains all of the settings for the session, including all the effects and edits that you've done. So if you re-open the session, it will come back exactly the way you left it. The whole point of Multitrack view is that it's non-destructive - so no original files get altered at all when you place them in a session. Everything that happens is effectively a replay event. This means that you can go back to a session any time you like, and alter pretty much anything. It's important to note that Audition only records unprocessed inputs - if you place an effect on a recorded track it doesn't ever become part of the original file.
