Cannot get audition to record

Question

I cannot seem to get the levels to show up that I have a mic input. I am on a mac book pro and I have tried using the computer mic an my external device both iof which do show up in the audio hardware.

I have tried frecording in wave form and muti track. I cannot see to get a signal

You are possibly a victim of Apple's enhanced security, which appears from the user's point of view to be specifically designed to prevent you from doing what you want. Anyway, that's the first thing to check - it's been an issue since Mojave. See this thread: No audio regardless of source selected
