Catalina & Audition & RODE -- Can't input audio through RODECaster Pro board

Just bought a new iMac with Catalina. I have the latest version of Audition (5/28/2020). In the Mac's audio settings, I can connect to my RODECaster Pro board/interface without a problem. I can get a level from my microphone and everything. But I can't get Audition to see that as my input, so I can't record.  Audition DOES playback through the board from previous sessions. But i can't get it to see the inputs. Has anyone else faced this? Any ideas? I've done uninstalls, restarts, safe mode and more.

In that case, there's a good chance that your issue may well be the one described here: -I-cannot-get-audio-signal-into-my-software-since-upgrading-to-macOS-10-14-Mojave-on-my-Mac

That's what the Adobe techs finally figured out, that even though it was an external microphone, we needed to give permissions to Audition and RODE for the Mic. Works like a charm now.

Yes, that's one of the snags with audio on Macs - the OS can get at it. On PCs, if you have an audio device with an ASIO driver it bypasses pretty much all of the OS, and all of the crap to do with unnecessary security and other silliness like active socket sensing. And it's not just Focusrite that have this information - I think it's now quite widespread, but certainly not on every manufacturer's site, that's for sure.

Things you have to do in Audition to get a source connected and recording: First locate the actual channel in the Input box:

Then you have to Record-enable the track:

And then hit the Record button on the transport controls. Now if you knew all this already then I'm sorry - but more often than not, it's one of these steps that's been overlooked...

Thanks, Steve. All of those bases are covered, but still no luck. Appreciate the reply!
