Changing Session Sample Rate - Text edit errors

Hi, i'm trying to use Text Edit on mac to change the sample rate/ bit depth of a session before i start. But once i change the number in text edit, it doesn't let me save. I have the error messages:

'The document (name of project) could not be saved."

"The document (name of project) is on a volume that does not support permanent version storage"

How else can i fix the sample rate/bit depth of the session before i start editing please. Any help greatly appreciated!

Where is this sesx?
On a local drive or in the 'cloud'
It seems clear that wherever you are trying to save to is not permitted

1. Make sure the sesx is on a local drive

2. Make sure the sesx is not open by Audition or any other application

Hi, thanks for your response. I managed to fix this, i used a different text editor called Sublime and that worked fine. Now i have another confusion with audition. My session IS in 48hz, 24-bit now.  Even in the properties tab it says so. However the 'mixing' info at the bottom right still says 32-bit mixing?  Is this because mixing is fixed at 32 no matter what? Sorry if thats a silly question, just want to make sure for when i come to export the final multitrack!

Thanks for your help

Short answer is - yes
32 bit mixing is internal and you can export a mixdown to any sample rate and bit depth you want
