Classroom in book

Greetings!

Can we expect a new edition of classroom in a book series for Audition this year? I'm seeing the last one was published in 2018.

Hi,

I agree. I was also surprised to see that. I am working more and more with Audition and I often buy Adobe Classroom in a Book series. I miss having Adobe Audition in a Classroom (latest version) in my library at home.

I agree with Steve here. In the last few years there hasn't really been much new that would justify a completely new book. I think the books that are out there, The Tutorials and videos from Adobe and books dealing with audio in general are Ok so far. Hope that helps.

The other thing, which is a bit more insidious as far as any of these instruction videos and books is concerned, is that they're not actually doing you much of a favour anyway. Everybody learns about this stuff best by actually doing it, and only asking about about specific things when they get stuck. It's like learning to drive a car; you can't do it whilst reading a book about it, can you?*

So really, the 'classroom in a book' thing is only any real use as an introductory primer, and as such doesn't need updating anyway; for the vast majority of people, they just need to get stuck in, and for those who simply can't cope at all - well, they probably need another hobby... 🙂

*I have some first-hand experience of this. Somebody tried to teach people to use the fore end loader on a tractor by having a little screen with a video player balanced in front of the steering wheel, and they wanted me to test it to see how well it worked. Believe me, if you don't concentrate on that bucket 100% you can do some real damage with it!

We're a U2U group - we have absolutely no idea of what Adobe is going to produce in the way of learning resources until they actually announce them. The only thing that I'm moderately confident about is that they aren't going to produce a complete manual/user guide!
