Cleaning up synced files in waveform editor

Question

I have recorded a two person interview with 2 mics to discreet tracks.  I would. like to remove coughs and "uhs" from the audio.  The material I want to. remove is not only on that persons track but to a lessor degree on the other track as well.  It seems I can only bring one track into the waveform editor but I wouylod like to clean up the same spot on both tracks.  I really don't want to. mix them down if I can avoid it.  Is ther a way I can keep the two tracks discreet but beable to remove unwanted noises, clicks and sounds over both trtacks at the same time?

You really should do this in Multitrack with each channel on its own track - you can't do this easily in Waveform. In Multitrack you can easily make multiple track selections, and ripple-delete time from the session, which will affect both tracks equally, and the mixdown at the end is simple. Doing it like this enables you to correct other things as well if you want - like the relative levels of the two tracks.

When I said that you can't do this easily in Waveform that doesn't mean that it isn't possible - it just means that you have to convert your original tracks into a multi-channel file which you can open in Waveform, and edit there. You then have the issue of what you do with the resultant file. Since you haven't said what your intention for this is, I can't tell you what to do next - except to say that when you've edited the result it's relatively easy to split the multichannel file back into individual mono ones again.
