Question

Compression FX Causing Crash

I've been having this problem since CC Audition v. 11 was released.  I have a blank master template that I use to start a session.  It has all my standard tracks and FX sends already set up.  When I go to adjust settings on the native compression plugins, Audition crashes.  Every.  Time.  Dynamics Processing, Multi or Single band compression, etc.  Try to open one, and crash.

I finally solved it, but the bug persists.  I had to temporarily load a different plugin from a different category into that slot.  Say, an echo or reverb.  Once I did that, I could remove it and replace it with the compression plugin I actually wanted.  Worked like a charm.  Just wanted to post in case anyone else was experiencing the same thing.

Actually, it only works some of the time.  I continue to have the problem and IT IS INFURIATING!  Whenever I try to change compression settings, crash.  Adjust reverb, crash.  Tweak Dynamics Processing, crash.  Sometimes I can swap out the plugin with another and that clears the crash, but not always.  I am in a CONSTANT state of crashing while trying to do the very basics of my work.  This has rendered Audition completely unusable for me!  C'mon Adobe!  FIX THIS!

Did you resave your custom template after you had repaired the session by substituting the effect and replacing it with the one that you wanted in the template? Or just remake the template in v.11 and keep that for the future.

If you want Adobe to do something about it you need to tell them. Follow the instructions to get the log and crash reports to the developers. Audition Crashed. Now what?
