Continuous Audio Editing

Question

does anyone know how to get back to continuous play while highlighting and deleting in a audiofile without it skipping to the highlighted section?

The only control you have over this is in Edit>Preferences>Playback and Recording. I think that what you need to do is remove the check on the left of the box that says 'Return Playhead to Start Position'. But as I said, that's all there is.
