I've noticed no real answer to an old question.

Can Adobe Audition open files in the M4A format?

    I don't know whether there can be different "flavours" of m4a but I have just opened such a file in Audition 13.0.3.60 and it plays without problem.  I did notice the File Importer said it was using Quick Time.

    That was my first step, but it's been a while since I've used it. When I went looking for QuickTime to download, I noticed Apple no longer supports the product on Windows.
