Correcting Intonation Problems

I am mixing a small insrumental group, each recording from their homes and inevitably they are not in tune with each other...   e.g. Flute 1 and Flute 2 are sufficiently 'out' to catch the ear and spoil the effect. Is there a way (and simple instructions please!) for me to adjust the intonation of Flute 1 (in my example) so that it matches Flute 2?

That's fine as far as it goes, for hich many thanks.    But all this talk of splines and reference channels and things is double dutch to me I'm afraid.   I just want something that will help me, say, to push one track uniformly up by, say, quarter tone so I can match it with another track by ear. Isn't there a SIMPLE instruction that will help me to do that?

It is much easier than it sounds - especially if you have a good ear.

From ,ultitrack double click the clip you want to change - this takes it into waveform view

View > show spectral pitch display

Then you can adjust the entire pitch of that clip by turning the pitch dial shown on the HUD or enter a number of 'cents' to adjust

Or you can select a section and by adding keyframes 'tune' a note or section.

When satisfied press 'Apply'

Note that this is destructive editing so best to make a copy  of the source material first if you need to practice
