Correcting pitch with a modulation

I have a vocal track that is only a little off every here and there. I plan on using Auto Pitch Correction, but the one issue is that there is a pitch modulation in the middle of the track. If I cut the track before the modulation, highlight the portion with the pitch issues, and apply APC from the rack, will it effect the whole track, or just the part of the track that is highlighted? Can I apply one instance of APC to one 1/2 and another to the other half?
