Crackling on Track when I try to add mastering effects or FFT filter

I've been mixing this new song in multirack view since yesterday everything was fine until today, i proceeded to add two FFT filters (Kill mic rumble and Mastering- Heavy and wide filters) and now when i play it back it does a weird crackling noise. It also does this when i try to add the Mastering effect thats under the "Special" category.

Could anyone please help me figure this out and how to fix it?

P.S i use a USB snowbal microphone and i do not have an interface.

Is this on a Mac or a PC? How many effects do you have applied in total?

Its on a Mac and so far i only have about 5 effects per track on it. But I
actually just discovered its making that noise without the effects turned
on as well, so now im not sure if its just my program.

Try going to to the Hardware Settings page (Edit>Preferences) and increasing the buffer size/latency setting (I don't know what it's called on Macs, but it will be one or the other), and see if that improves things...

Also note that if you have effects applied to a track you can pre-render them (look for the lightning bolt at the top of the fx rack on each track), and that will invariably improve playback if you have a lot of effects applied.
