De-Click process in Audition works on just one channel

Hi,

In trying to salvage old stereo vinyls, I'm having a problem with the de-click process. After tayloring the process through the Click/Pop Eliminator window (see first screen shot), and applying it to the recording (FLAC files), I get a very satisfactory result for channel 2. Instead,  Channel 1 is left unchanged, as if no processing at all had been applied to it (see the second screen shot). Could anyone help me to understand what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks,

Paolo Viviani

Which version of Audition are you using? It doesn't look like AA3 because it didn't have the effects Preview editor. So you would probably be better posting this in the Audition CS 5.5 and above part of the forum.

However I have two comment about your settings. Maybe try with the Link Channels off in Advanced settings. Also the Detect and Reject levels are very close to one another so I wouldn't think that the effect is doing much anyway.

I have exactly the same problem using MacOS 14.6.1 and AA 24.4.3. ryclark's suggestion of toggling Link Channels does not correct the problem, but two presets do work on both channels:

  • Constant Hiss and Crackle, which, without further adjustments, eliminates too much of the desired sound
  • Medium Amplitude Audio, which works fairly well as a starting point.
