I am aware this question isn't relevant in Audition's help, but in Creative's one.

But, to date, I do not find anything in the Creative's direction.

Then, thank you even for your attention.

With a very old X-Fi Xtreme Music sound interface ; in Audition 3.0.1 ; in Hardware Setup ; Creative ASIO driver selected ; in Edit View Port panel ; in Default Input list

should I select anything according to the action ?

For example to record, select [05M] Mix RL ;

or [04M] Mix FR

or [09S] Auxiliary 2L

or [22M] SPDIF IN R

or another one of twenty or so items ?

The title " Edit View port " is disconcerting, since the item is selected, but then nothing seems edited.

Please correct approximate English

Usually you will want to select the basic stereo input and output pair which I suspect would be 01(S)1/2 or 01(M)L and 02(M)R.

Sadly for me, there is none of those you mentioned.

Moreover, there is for instance in Input List : [01M] Windows Record L and [02M] Windows Record R, but to select both to make the " basic input stereo pair " you explained is not possible, since only one item can be selected ( as soon as one item is selected, the list closes away ) .

The Output List seems more obvious in as much as there is a [01S] Front L/R item, which I understand as the basic possible pair you explained.

Then, I will select to record for instance the current stream in the PC, in the Input List : [05M] Mix RL, hoping it means " ... stereo mix Right + Left ... " ??!

It was kind from you to tried to help beyond the Audition scope.

Unless further down the list you see something like 05(S) Mix L/R which is what would normally be expected to give you a stereo input of some sort. Apart from that sorry I can't really help any further as I don't know anything about the Creative soundcard that you are using and how it is set up.
