delay from Mic to Headphones

I use headphones and a mic while speaking, the problem I am having is the slight delay from what I speak into the mic and what comes into the headphones. In other words it is almost like echo but just a tenth of a second it has no effect on the recording, it works just fine but while I am speaking I get this very frustrating delay in my headphones and it makes it difficult to carry on a conversation I don't know if this makes any sence at all but I could sure use some help I have an interview scheduled and want to be able to talk to my meeting partner and have it work like talking on the phone (you know the old land line kind of thing?)  Here is the images of my settings input and output in Adobe now.
