Deleted Waveform (in Waveform Editor) Doesn't Visibly Delete

Hi! I've been working in Audition for a few months now with no trouble but have had one particularly annoying issue recently (just a few days now). When I highlight and delete the entire waveform (in waveform editor) it deletes (per my history), but the waveform remains on the screen. I can delete sections successfully but not the entire waveform. 

One was I know it's technically deleted and just remaining on screen is that when I hit record at the end of the waveform, the deleted waveform disappears at that point.
