Disable Multiple Takes or Remove Unused Takes After Using Punch and Roll

Hello.  Using punch and roll for VO/book recording.  Would like the ability to do one of the following:   1) overwrite existing clip when punching (so only one final take exists on the track),  or 2) disable the mulitple take function, or 3) remove unused takes from a track (is there a menu option for this?)

I want to easily clean the punch points if necessary but find myself wrestling with the underlying takes on the track.
