Question

Doubled sound

Hello...

I have a recording of the same sound but from 2 different sources, one a microphone and one a mixing console. There is a slight delay so the sound has like an echo, is doubled. Is there any possibility to fix this? I tried to fix it by isolating frequencies, it doesn't work, it's not a real echo. Repeating sound....

Thank you for your hints!

If it is a timing delay then you can just shift the early one to match up with the delayed version. this may be easiest to do in the Multitrack view with the two audio files on separate tracks. Then you can zoom in and move one of the clips until the waveforms match up. Also, depending on the type of audio you may be able to use Audition's Automatic Speech Alignment feature from the Clip menu.

Thank you for your answer. I forgot to say that it's a mono track. So everything on the same track. And there is talking sometimes, but most of the time is music. It's a festival that we shoot and record.

So both sources are already mixed into the one mono recorded file where you hear the echo? In that case there isn't really anything you can do to unscramble it, even in Audition, I'm afraid. My suggestions were based on the assumption that they were two different recordings.
