Question

Dragging a stereo clip onto two mono tracks

In ProTools, one has a stereo clip on a stereo track.  One can create two mono tracks, and drag that stereo clip onto the new tracks, creating two mono clips, one clip per track.

Is it possible to do this in Audition?

You will have to separate the stereo file into two mono ones first. Open the stereo audio file in the Waveform edit view and go to Edit/Extract Channels to Mono Files to do the split

An easier way is to right-click on the file in the File pane, and select "Extract Channels to Mono Files"

I have an OMF that has handles that I don't want to lose.  Extracting channels to mono files without being able to simply drag the clip (as in ProTools) means I'll have to re-sync all of these mono clips manually.

I was hoping to avoid having to do that.

Whoops, I misspoke -- What I have, is a sequence from Premiere, sent via Dyanamic Link to Audition; not an OMF.
