dropped samples detected

I was trying to record over a instrumental but I notice it plays fine when I play it by itself but when I play it with mic plugged in it says "dropped samples detected"

I need help its not the beat itselfs and I tried on 2 computers in my house and it does the same thing (I don't know if it means anything but its an hp laptop and a hp desk top that was used)

    What sort of mic are you using and how is it plugged into your computer and getting into Audition? Are you on Mac or PC and with which operating system?

    USB microphones running through a hub can do this...
